Abstract

 Syntax is an essential aspect for organizing written texts, so it needs to be improved among the learners to accomplish the future professional requirements. In language production role of syntax play a major part in developing the written communication. In the process of enhancing communication skills, syntax development is indispensable for the second language learners to proceed further in the academic and professional life. The aim of this study is to enhance the writing skills of the tertiary level English language learners with the support of tasks and Communicative Language Approach (CLT). CLT focuses at meaning and with that how language can be developed through various tasks with special focus on syntax. This study proposed a strategy called syntactic enhancement strategy to develop syntactic structures in writing by incorporating post-structural facets that are mandatory for language production and require for syntax development.
