An Activity Based Study on Enhancing the Writing Skills of Tertiary Level Engineering Students through Contextual Teaching and Learning Approach

Words are fundamental in any language and it is like building blocks because that helps to produce language. In terms of language production, spoken and written are the prime categories. Enhancing the written communication of the learners at the tertiary level is discussed in this study. This research work mainly focuses on using contextual words in language production especially in writing, and how it deals with language enhancement through contextualization using contextual approach. Writing is an important skill for engineering graduates to use it in their professional career. The significance of writing skill is proven in many occasions like writing emails, manuals, reports, and proposals. Contextual approach helps learners to enhance writing skills and to improve different range of words that are to be used in contexts. Contextual words can develop the writing skills using contextual language learning tasks.
